Benrong developed the BS series of outdoor power stations in a bid to provide green, clean and portable solutions to outdoor enthusiasts. For BS500/700/1000 models, one of their side is fitted with a so-called reading light, which give soft, non-dazzling light and can illuminate a wide area. This is a very unusual detail, reflecting Benrong’s deeper understanding of the needs of outdoor camping. The lighting of most competitor products is provided only in the form of spotlight, emitting more dazzling light beams.
There is a small episode in the middle. Qiu Kaijian used the outdoor power supply as a lighting lamp in the tent during a company’s night outdoor camping event. Unexpectedly, after clicking it, he found that the light was extremely strong, which quickly gave him an eye sore, because his eyes had already adapted to the darkness by then. It occured to Qiu Kaijian that could there be a way to make the lights softer? In a slightly cramped tent, what is actually needed is a slightly softer, balanced light.
As a result, a spotlight was used on one side to illuminate the open space in the distance, and a soft light panel was used on the other side to become a diffused light source to illuminate the closer area and the interior space of the tent.
An important upgrade was thereby integrated to the BS series, enhancing the user friendliness.
In the meantime, Qiu Kaijian noticed that when colleagues were camping outdoors, outdoor power supplies and various camping equipment were moved in and out, and some metal objects may come into contact with the outdoor power interface, causing accidental risks. Therefore, the interface switch button was added to improve the safety feature.
